VISAKHAPATNAM, Nov 27

Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL), Visakhapatnam, One of the leading stevedores of east coast of India has achieved a record breaking in loading a single parcel of 40000 tonnes illeminate sand per vessel on to m.v.Dailor at Visakhapatnam Port. The cargo belongs to Indian Rare Earths Limited. The main event in this vessel’s operation was that OSL have loaded a quality of 28,494 tonnes of cargo on 23rd Nonember2005 by working 10 hooks within 20 hours time, which enabled them to establish a national record.

Mr. Rajan K. Sam, Branch In Charge of OSL, Vizag said that their own national records surpassed this record created earlier by loading 27,775 tonnes of Illeminate Sand per vessel on to m.v. Navious Arc in 24 hours time and 12 hooks on 25th August 2003 at the Visakhapatnam Port.

OSL conveyed there thanks to the chairman, Manager and Dock Labour Board of Visakhapatnam Port and all their associates for their excellent cooperation in achieving this record-breaking performance, Mr.Rajan said.
